Engineering Graduate Student Advisory Committee

The purpose of the Dean's Engineering Graduate Student Advisory Committee (EGSAC) is to advise the College of Engineering on topics that are important to graduate education and that impact the graduate student experience on campus. The EGSAC meets regularly with the Dean of Engineering to bring forward ideas and concerns facing engineering graduate students. The EGSAC also works to implement related initiates approved by the Dean.

Tau Beta Pi

UIUC chapter of the national Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. TBP works to recruit UIUC engineering students of distinguished scholarship and exceptional character to be initiated into the national organization. The UIUC chapter hosts numerous professional, service, and social events throughout the semester to help initiates demonstrate the exceptional character required for TBP membership.

ASEE is a nonprofit organization of individuals and institutions committed to furthering engineering education by promotion of excellence in instruction, research, public service, and practice. The UIUC student chapter helps in this effort, regularly hosting a lunch seminar series for engineering students with presentations by faculty on topics concerning engineering education.

The committee is charged with reviewing the various Engineering Science programs and making recommendations to the Dean concerning requirements, courses, etc. for these programs; coordinating with the Departments of Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics concerning Engineering Science programs; and advising students concerning programs.

ASUC Elections Council
